You have the right to choose what you belief, because that's your freedom. Beliefs are very personal.
Your father has also the right to be mad. Although he is normal, he should respect your beliefs.

Is he crazy? No. Parents will always be disappointed if their children don't follow the religious doctorine they were raised with. I was raised Presbyterian but I grew up to be Pagan. Is my mother disappointed, sure but she was also open minded enough to let us choose our own path.

If my children grow up to be Catholics will I be disappointed, maybe. I, too, am openminded enough to let them make their own choices as well. Religion is a very personal journey or at least it should be.

when parents spend thier whole life trying to train you a certain way and you don't follow of course they are going to be upset, he's not crazy
