If a person has not reported for probation and it has been 6-7 years do you think there is warrent?
Is there a time where they just drop the probation since the person has not been in any trouble since? If there is a warrent is it a Body Warrent or Bench Warrent? What should this person do in this matter?

This is a tough question. In some cases, after this long a time, the warrant may have been recalled. That's going to depend upon your location and the zeal of the prosecutor. I'm going to court tomorrow to testify against a man who was sentenced to probation in 2001 and never reported. He was finally arrested on the warrant in 11/06. He's been offered two years prison time, and I think he should take it. He was on probation for Forgery.
He/she can call the probation office and ask if there is a warrant. They should know, and they may tell you.

When a probationer is listed as an absconder his/her probation is tolled and a warrant, which is an order to bring the body of the person in front of the court, is issued.
Continue with life as they have been, by running and hiding from responsibility. No a warrant will not go away, it will be there until the person deals with it or the person dies. That is if it is probation on a felony offense. If it is some bs municipal court probation where you had to go meet with a city probation officer over a misdemeanor then they may issue a warrant but extraditions can not extend outside of the state.
But if it is the felony, you should ask the person how long do they think they can run.

Oh yes the warrant is still on the books. Since they've not come to your home to get you it's a bench warrant. They're just waiting for you to pop your head up by getting pulled over or any other situation where the run your ID. Then they'll haul you down and put you in front of the judge who will tell you about your summary conviction and then send you back to the polky to serve the maximum sentence for whatever you did. No bail because you're already a flight risk.
Even turning yourself in isn't going to help you at this point.
Move to another state.

Not reporting for probation is a crime. Crimes generally do not just go away unless the statute of limitations has expired. It is highly doubtful that this has happened. Call a criminal attorney, who will probably advise this person to turn him or herself in. I would guess it is likely that the person will need to spend some time in jail for probation violation.

i don't know why any one that gives a **** about their future outside of bars would not have reported, other then just being ignorant to the law and court system's . I have been into trouble myself and it pisses me off to go and report to those pricks but i do it because my life outside is way more important, but i would recommend to call either their probation officer or some kind of law figure to ask, but you might have got lucky and your "P.O" didn't report you , so good luck buddy , i hope you never got reported.

From my understanding there is no statue of limitations after a conviction until the sentence is satisfied. This "person" should consult an attorney and do what is right so that this "person" can get on with life with out looking over their shoulder.

I think this question has been on this person's mind for a long time, but asking the question about it is not enough, deal with it, at least talk to a lawyer, it is not easy to take the first step, but it's better than living in fear all the time.

LOL, you were out on probation and all you had to do was just show up for your stupid probation hearings, which you didn't do? Jeez. If you have been staying out of trouble, go to the police and say that it was stupid not to show up, you've been staying out of trouble, and you just want to report in to clear your name.

No idiot. I would suggest that you go under an assumed name for the rest of your life. It is impossible for you to get out of this one.
