My hair is naturally very dark brown...however I have been getting chunky blonde high light strips in it for years now. I fancy going back to my roots and being my natural colour again.

I dont want to let it grow out as it would take years and years as my hair is very long (and dont want to get it cut other than trimmed). If I go to the salon and ask for my hair to be dyed back to its natural colour will it stay? As ive heard that sometimes when you dye over bleached hair after a few weeks it fades and looks slightly ginger.

Please let me know.

If it stained back well, it will last longer than a few weeks, but will eventually have fading, when you stain it again will last even longer, but this is really your only option.. Make sure you go to someone that knows what they are doing, and it should be great ....Good luck!!!!

it probably won't be the exact same color. i would suggest getting your hair dyed it's natural color and then a couple of weeks later, after it does fade a bit you can go and get lo-lights (like hi-lights but darker than your natural hair color) i think it would balance out your color.
