that would be something to discuss with the doctor in charge,,,,,, and it would depend on what type of alcohol and what it is mixed with,,,,, and what meds the patient is on,,,,,, alcohol can be irritating,,,,,, but i would think around the same time a patient could have coffee, as that is also irritating,,,,,

Research shows a relation between the risk of esophageal cancer and both the quantity (g/week) and frequency (times/week) of alcohol drinking. Altough a statistically significant risk increase was shown among moderate to heavy smokers (15 cigarette/day < 25) (odds ratio, 4.35:95% confidence interval, 1.81-10.49), the dose-response for cigarette smoking was unclear (P value for trend = 0.07). No combined effect of alcohol drinking and cigarette smoking was found. If I had surgery on my esophagus I would not drink or smoke.....

The pills have been likely meclizine and so eating alcohol this night carefully would be ok. the priority with eating and taking this medicine is which you will exchange into extra drowsy and progressively extra uncoordinated. The 0.5 existence of this medicine is 6 hours so a stable rule of thumb is 4 to 5 0.5 lives till there is almost no longer something left, yet with this med i think of you would be wonderful this evening.

If you really want to, get a long rubbery straw, slide it down your throat, and have a good ol' thirst quenching guzzle. Don't expect to enjoy your alchoholic beverage for a while though, maybe a couple weeks or more.

I don't know what the answer is, but I hope it would be 'as soon as you awake from the surgery.'
