If your computer is up to date with Windows updates then your copy is most likely genuine. Microsoft's anti piracy program has 2 components, the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) Validation tool and WGA Notifier. Both of these are critical updates. So, if you set your computer for automatic Windows updates then both components have already been installed on your computer. If you had a pirated copy of Windows, WGA validation tool would have already pick it up by now. The result would have been the WGA notifier sending you an endless supply of "You do not have a genuine copy of Windows" messages. If your computer is not already up to date with Windows patches then you should update it.
