I doubt your credit score is zero. The lowest score is around 350.

You need to use credit to have a credit score and if you have not had any credit cards for eight years that might be your problem.

Get a copy of your free credit report and make sure it contains no errors. Then apply for a prime card. If you are turned down apply for a secured or subprime card. Just about everybody qualifies for some sort of credit card or another unless their finances are a total wreck.

Once you get a card, use only part of the credit line and pay your bills on time. This will allow you to build up a decent credit score.

Mostly all credit cards are free, untill you charge on them. That's when you aquire finance charges and if you dont pay the entire bill, you will carry those finance charges over into next month and so on.

Contact Experian credit company and have them run a report and send it to you. It may cost a couple of bucks, but its never a bad idea to check out your credit report.
