I have natural dark brown hair color, with blonde highlights, how long to wait to get them out again? This is the 2nd or3rd time getting them, they've been in for about 2 or 3 months. HELP!!!

You can use a dandruff shampoo like head and shoulders, which will "wash out" the permanent color you've used. You'll have to do it several times, but DON'T exceed 2x per day. Just be sure to CONDITION HEAVILY afterwards: using such a shampoo too often will strip your hair of natural oils.

You can then (or instead) use a semi-permanent or temporary color to ease your hair back in while you wait for the permanent color to wash out. An example of a temporary color is Clairol's Loving Care. While you won't be able to lighten your hair with it, at least the highlights or lowlights will start shining brown instead of black. A semi-permanent choice would be Clairol's Natural Instincts. Again, you won't be able to lighten but you will be able to alter the "shine".

To go back to brown right away, you'll unfortunately have to dye it again. But most color systems today are so gentle, that this won't damage you. It truly is the best way to "go back". Since your current color is so deep (black), you'll likely need a rich haircolorant to get you back to dark brown. Feria would work in this case.

Remember: most every brand now comes with a deep conditioner, so don't be afraid to harm your hair by coloring it again, so long as you use the conditioners as directed (at the time of coloring, and 1-2 weeks after; and leave the conditioner in for at least 2 minutes before rinsing). The possibility of damage comes when you continually LIGHTEN or BLEACH your hair. It can actually be GOOD for your hair to color it otherwise, as the colorant coats the hair cuticle.

I had the same thing and I just got my hair dyed back to its original color until it grew out (after a while, the color fades and you have to get it redone until it grows back out).
