$1800.00 :)

Most likely it is the amount it can brew.

Or may be fancy and have lots of feature comforts, but they all provide the same function :)

Well, you ask an interesting question. You may get a smart alec that answers $1800; so be prepared for that inmature answer to surface.

It very well could be durability, technology and lifespan. It could also be "brand name". You pay more for a BMW then you do for another car, etc.

Better coffe - no! I don't believe that. Coffee is coffee. You buy cheap coffee you taste it. I definitely, personally would go for a lower end-cost coffee machine. I don't go for fancy this or that. I'd have to say though that "brand" definitely plays a role in the price.

Whatever the reason - enjoy that perfect cup of coffee - no matter how you get it - from a $2000 coffee machine or a $200 coffee machine. What it boils down to really is the "taste"

Aside from the quality and workmanship in the components making up the machine IE. copper vs plastic tubing. It does lie in perception of the product. I can see spending enough to get a decent coffeemaker but at some point you likely reach the quality vs cost balance point. Does a high end coffeemaker make better coffee perhaps but as consumer reports often shows the best does not always cost the most. In your example why not say a free coffeemaker you can get when you sign up for coffee delivery!!!! vs the gold plated top of the the line coffeemaker I use with the beans I have flown in every day!

Your coffee is only as good as the quality of the beans you use. Buy the cheaper machine and use the money you have left over to buy beans from a gourmet coffee shop.

The idiot who'd pay the extra $1800. I hope you didn't do that. I have a great coffee maker that I only paid less than $40 for and it makes a great cup of joe.

The cofee maker has nothing to do with the quality of the coffee. i.e. if u buy starbucks cofees that they sell to make at home it's gonig to taste the same no matter what cofee maker u make it in,the more expensive one is probably for restaurant purposes and it can handle all the coffee they make and last forever.

NOt sure. I love my $200 one. It grinds then brews. Best coffee ever. I guess if you are buying an espresso machine $2000. sounds about right.

$1800. Just kidding. I suppose that the more expensive one would be all those things you said, however, often times that is not the case. For example, I have a $35 camera and it takes very good photos, every bit as good as my sister's $150 one.

Dunno. I paid about $17 for mine at Target, and it makes excellent coffee.

Maybe the difference is a bit of shallowness for spending so much money on a coffee maker. I'd rather give some of that money to charity. That would really say something about someone's status and character.
