I heard somewhere that if a splinter enters your blood stream then it can lead to your heart and you can die. Is this true?

its imposable for it to enter the bloodstream, with a splinter after a few days your body starts to reject it that's why it starts to go a sort of blue red colour around it as its pushed towards the surface of the skin, if left it can go septic and infected then you ll need antibiotics...use a needle to Pearce the skin then teasers to pull it, wash the area thoroughly after.

This is false. An actual splinter is too big to enter into your blood stream. The most a splinter can do is become infected if left in your skin.

It depends what kind of splinter it is and if the infection gets really bad. If there is a red streak going up the arm or limb yes you better get to a Dr. fast as this is a sign of infection that needs to be taken care of immediately. It's called bloods poisoning and can be very dangerous.
