Toyota will emerge as a force to be reckoned with. Look at how they dominate the Craftsman truck series, winning just under 50% leaving the "Big Three" to divide up the rest. Also, look at the results of Toyota powered cars in Formula 1. Another thing to look at.. Toyota has NO corporate debt. That translates into lots of money to spend on racing research and development. Ford just mortgaged the farm in a last ditch effort to survive. Also, for your consideration, In 1946 Toyota was virtually finished as a Company. Think about it people.

Personally I don't really think they'll have much of an impact in their first season. They got Jarrett, Waltrip, Reutimann, Blaney, Mayfield, Allmemdinger and Vickers. Only Jarrett has a guaranteed spot in every race this year. So honestly I think some of these drivers are going to fail to even qualify for a lot of races this year. Maybe DJ or Mayfield could get Toyota a win this year. DJ with all his experience and Mayfield taking risks with fuel mileage like he did at Michigan. All in all, not much of an impact this year, just too many questions.

Toyota has a chance, but they just started, it'll take them some time to get things going, and that could take them this whole year if things don't go so well for them.
But come next year, they will be good enough to challenge for the win on a pretty regular basis.

I think as the season progresses Toyota will only get better. One has to look at what they did when they enter in the Craftsman Truck Series about 3 seasons ago. They did not win until August of that 1st season and won the championship in 2006.
I think Toyota will have a shot in those COT events, but they will need housepower

They have a chance in Nascar, why would they not have one. Toyota will be competitive by mid season, and might even put a driver in the chase. All of their teams are sharing information, and they are coming into it with the right attitude they dont think they are going to come in and dominate right away, but they expect to fix what they need to and compete right away. The big 3 in a couple of years are going to be dominated by Toyota, that is if they dont fix their own problems.

Toyota will have a chance. But must take it on step at a time.Yes they want to win right out of the gate but they must make their first victory quailifing on speed. Then to make a top 10 finish.
Toyota into NASCAR reminds me of the return to NASCAR of Dodge. They got some solid teams but made their charge as quailifing, consistancy, and victory.

I agree.. give them a couple of years to work out the kinks but I do think they will be competitive. They build vehicals to last. Thats what they have over the "other non-american" brands.
