They are allowed to lie to catch criminals. If they lie about you and this causes you demonstrable damages. (Example the spared around that you are about to be arrested because someone that dislikes you is on the force) then take them to court for slander. Further there should be ethical restraints in the departments to prevent this type of abuse, but they aren't always used. A good lawsuit will put them back into their place
If they lie to you and this causes you emotional distress. (Example they tell you your boyfriend is cheating oin you and he's not) Seek counseling and send them a bill. If they don't pay it, take them to small claims alleging malicious mischief

because we live in a morally corrupt society. If you think they are going to arrest you. it's best not to tell them anything at all not even your name. let them figure it out.
