There is this dog I want to adopt. It is a Pomeranian and on the website for the dog, it says it's a senior. Does anyone know how old a dog has to be to be qualified as a senior?

Between 7-9 years is usually considered the beginning of being a senior

It is at the descretion of the shelter/rescue how they code the dog, but some feel that over 7 is considered senior. Then again some shelters say over 10 is senior.

That being said, adopting a senior dog is very rewarding so I think you should apply to adopt it. You would be saving a life and getting a great new best friend. Good luck.

There is no "official" qualification. Check the website carefully to see if there is some sort of guide regarding what they consider "senior".

Why don't you ask the rescue/shelter who has it for adoption.

No, it's purely subjective. Ask the people giving it away.
