I have fluid in my left lung's cavity, while breathing i feel a sharp pain on alternating spots throughtout the left side of my body, from my left side at the same level of my belly-bottom to the left side of the base of my head, i have low platelets, pain in my knees and left wrist, and I feel ichy everywhere, especially the feet. Also, if I take to big of a breathe, I have to cough and when I do, my heads hurts for it's duration. Sometimes, my head hurts for no apparent reason. Oh, I had an MRI scan taken three day ago and they found white marks on the basal ganglia.

I am hospitalized at Jackson Memorial. And none of the doctors have any idea what it mightbe. I have seen a neurologist, a hemologist, a rheumatoid inmunologist, and waiting on a infectious diseases specialist to come.

Oh, the doctors also found an antibody in my blood stream called Lupus Inhibitor. So, they did tests to determine if I have Lupus, and they came negative.

Said, thank you for inviting me here. Let me start by saying that Jackson Memorial (in FL, if this is where you are) is indeed a good institute, especially for the heart issues. You are in good hands.
Every one of these symptoms could mean a lot. Fluid in the lungs with pleuritic symptoms could suggest infectious causes. Other possible causes could be trouble with the heart, lungs itself, low protein, malignancy etc.
Pain from the belly button to the base of the head has to have different reasons. There are no nerves in common, the embryological origin of organs is different (eg tooth problems can hurt in the ear, appendix can hurt in the belly button, heart attak can hurt in the shoulder etc).
MRI is an excellent modality, typically if they find something abnormal, they will say what are some possible things it looks like, spots can mean anything too. Young people, vessels, infections, tumors, older people infarcts, tumors, and many more.
Mildly low platelets could mean nothing, is quite common in hospitalised situations, could be from heparin or drugs that you are or maybe getting. moderate to severely low platelets is where a cause needs to be sought. Medications in a hospitalised patient remain a leading cause.
Lupus antibody is something really interesting if we are reading about it, but quite concerning if it is found in one's body. Why? it is very sensitive (mild variation from norm can elevate this and make it positive) and quite non specific (variation of a "whole lot" of illnesses can cause it to be positive).
Your ability to describe a lot of these abnormals talks of your understanding of medicine and your presence on the internet tells that you have internet access.
Recommendation: talk to your primary doctor (who is primarily responsible and is inviting appropriate specialists) and ask him/her about the few most likely diagnoses/working diagnosis, then search for the specific names on Yahoo/Google or NIH, CDC, webmd.com, mayoclinic.com, aafp.org, familydoctor.org, etc.
You could write to me the specific names too and I could try to explain those more.
Lastly, I have in some spots, up here, talked about tumors, please do not let this scare you or let you lose your sleep. I have mentioned the possible causes of things not the actual pathology since I have not seen you, examined you or seen your reports, best of luck for your health.

I am sorry but I really do not know what to make of your symptoms, but since you ask I will do my best to put forward some useful ideas.
My first thought was pressure on a nerve (the pain on one side of your body) from the fluid in the lung. Other thoughts...(not sure how useful they will be but I'll tell you them anyway). Joint pain, maybe inflammatory process, past infections or bleeding into joints.
Itching and low platelets, maybe liver involvement. The trouble is those options would have seemed to have been covered by the doctors you have already seen.
The white marks on basal ganglia may have no connection, the BG is related to learning, motor control and emotions so that would not seem to be relevant.
The deep breath, coughing and head pain would suggest to me nerve irritation.
As I say, this is just some ramblings which may or may not help.
I hope you find the solution soon, and are back to full health quickly.

Sounds like you have a rheumatological condition, possibly mixed connective tissue disease. The diverse sort of things you are complaining about sound right for things like lupus (though you say the tests are negative) and other similar diseases where your body's immune system attacks various tissues of your body.
This stuff is called autoimmune disease and there are a bunch of them. It can be a tangled mess to unravel.
Okay - let's look at a few pages. (1) is the wiki page about lupus inhibitor (or lupus anticoagulant) and it says that it can cause antiphospholipid syndrome (blood clotting) and people who have it don't always have lupus (SLE).
(2) is an abstract of an article where an Italian group document a small group of people who have Lupus Anticoagulant and Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. (3) is out of a Blog dedicated to autoimmune diseases (some of it makes a bit of good reading) and describes the links to "mixed connective tissue disease". There's a brief wiki page on it (4). There's a better page on emedicine (5) and it talks about Arthritis (68% MCTD patients have this at presentation), pleuritis/pericarditis (19% at presentation). If you didn't want to read the emedicine page then you could have a look at the Merck page (6)
You'd need to ask your specialists about the significance of the white marks on the basal ganglia. It could represent autoimmune vasculitis or demyelination or some other process depending on which part of the MRI found it. We'd need more information to actually make suppositions about it.
Oh - the last reference is the wiki page about Autoimmune diseases in general.

I am not a doctor, but have been studying nutrition for many years and have a few ideas.
I suggest you get tested for parasites, candida, or aspergillus. It definitely sounds like a parasite to me. This is typically overlooked by most doctors and many times symptoms of parasites are misdiagnosed as other ailments.
I would be very weary of taking a lot of medications to control this if it is a parasite because they won't help.
There is a product sold on the following web site: www.healthline.cc The owner of this company is a phD biochemist nutritional researcher with a lot of knowledge on this subject.
I suggest ordering the following to get at this problem ASAP.
1. Allicin -- I would take 6 to 8 tablets per day -- antibacterial (extract from garlic)
2. Colostrum - to stabilize the immune system
3. Oleuropin - 15 capsules per day --- kills bacteria, fungus, viruses -- is an olive leaf extract
4. Nucleotides -- an extract from brewer's yeast -- kicks the immune system into high gear. I would take about 15 per day.
5. Lung complex --- contains proanthocyanidin that will be extemely helpful with your problem. probably 8 per day.
6. Parastat -- this will get the parasites if it is causing the problem. Parasites usually migrate up to the lung area after a while and are nasty to get rid of. You should start feeling better after a few days taking this, but you need to continue taking about 8 capsules per day for about 2 to 3 months to completely get them out of your body.
This may seem like a lot of pills, but this company does not make pills, only vegetable capsules that do not contain all the toxic tagalongs all pills contain. It is all natural and from living sources so you will digest it very easily and should not have any issues in taking these. Your body will assimilate them like food.
I also strongly, strongly suggest you take Betaine HCL + potassium activator to cause your food to be digested and remethylate your cells. You should take 2 Betaine and 1 activator after each meal and even between meals for a while. If you continue this practice the rest of your life, you will add about 30 years to your life expectancy.
Also, I would order some probiotic from this company to replenish your intestinal flora being destroyed by medicines.
One other suggestion is to also order from the same company, green tea extract. One teaspoon of this is equivalent to 20 cups of green tea. I would take 2 teaspoons per day.
Good luck. This stuff really works and I would be doing this if it were me. Don't be affraid of it.
Let me know the results of all this at my e-mail address.

Have you been in contact with any deer ticks recently or over the last couple of years from time spent in the bush or even in the woods where deer might have been. It sounds like you might have Lime Disease, be sure to ask about it next time the doctor comes in for another look. Good luck.
