Each time I walk past him, he stops what he's doing and stares as I approach before muttering ,"Hi Aida," in a quite unnatural voice. (Syllables are separated and slow). Or he might just say, "Hi" in a 5 yr old's voice. I'm getting the impression that he either hates talking to me, or wants to talk but is unable to think of a subject. Opinions?

Nah, he's trying to get your attention. Negative attention is better than no attention at all. Reply by saying his name the same way. "Hi, Jonnnnn-a- thannnn" or whatever his name is. Then laugh.

Well guys dont generally think to emotionally, they do and say what they feel. If he didn't want to talk to you he would probably just either not talk to you or say hi in a normal voice and go about his business. When I want to ignore some one I do just that, I pay them as little attention as possible and dont look at them when they walk by. The fact that his voice sounds like a 5 year old probably means that he does want to talk to you and he has no idea how to approach you and more than likely scared of you. Just ask him out for a drink or something, if he doesn't want to he wont, he will find an excuse or he will mumble around and say yes!

If this is happening at work or school, someone who hates you isn't going to stop what he is doing, he will just ignore you and hope you keep on going. Chances are that the mili second you walk away, he is thinking to himself what an idiot he was for saying or doing what ever he did. Guys like this very rarely get the girls they want, they have low self esteem and are more comfortable settling for someone else.

he might be mocking you, which if it is the case then confront him and ask him if hes mocking you. He'd either be embarrassed in which case he most likely likes you or he mighty deny it and act as if everything is k between you 2. however if he acts like everything is k and he doesnt now what ur talkin about and still continues acting weird then he might be passive aggresive and not have the guts 2 tell u hes mad or doesnt like you.

i dont think that he hates u.. if he still can say hi aida. maybe hes just only shy to start conversation try to say hello with smile maybe he will say more maybe hes nervous..if he see you.he cant say nothing.. like a women if u have crush to guy.. ur happy to see them but if a guy talk to u u dont know what u gonna do.if u would talk to him or not.

is he your ex, crush, friend?????
If he is your ex then he might think you hate him so he's like testing you.He might still have feelings for you.
If he is your crush or your friend then he likes you definitely or maybe if he is your friend and you guys had a fight and he is just wondering what you think of him.
