This girl who i like occasionaly asks if i like or think that two of her friends are hot. I usually respond with changing subject saying no or asking why. Was this the right thing to do and why does she ask me this?

Just tell her that you are more attracted to her than her friends.

If you keep doing what you're doing now, she is going to think that you are not interested in women.

She must be thinking they are hot herself and she suspects you may be having a thing for them.

She asks you this because she's insecure, and you have to tell her that you don't look at other girls than her. it can also help if you tell her that you love her, and no one else(IF YOU DO LOVE HER) If you look at other girls, she will ask you this question...

She's investigating. Why? because she wants to get to know them. I wouldn't answer that question if I were you.
