No. And you think it's absurd because you obviously don't understand it. Try reading a high school biology textbook, it will tell you all you need to know and even dumb it down enough for you to understand.

Was Jesus a retard? Would answering that question make things any clearer for you?
Darwin formed his theories on observation, and in my opinion they are still a lot more plausible than the theories of creationism or intelligent design. The latter two cannot be proven scientifically, the former can for a certain amount. And no, evolution hasn't been proven 100%, but no better theories have arisen in the meantime, so the consensus regarding the appearance of life and diversity on earth is that evolutionism is the best theory there is so far. This is how science works. Strong theories survive and weak theories get replaced by better ones. Sounds familiar?

The religion and spirituality section is not the place to learn about Darwinism, Darwinism is not religion it is science.
You can pick up a biology textbook and find out anything you want to know about Common Descent and Natural Selection, if you read up on it you will then have the knowledge to decide for yourself whether evolution really is absurd or really is the best explanation we have for the origins of life on Earth and how man came to be here.
You will also discover that man did not come from monkeys but that monkeys and man share a common ancestor way back from whom we both evolved in different directions.

No, I don't think we came from monkeys and neither does anyone else, we share a common ancestor. I personally find it absurd to think that we were created out of dirt by some big invisible guy who lives in the sky.

we could have just as easily came from pigs, our skin is the same, alot of our body is the same. infact many medical replacement organs and medical supplies come from pigs.
but i think it is a very reasonable theory that answers quite a few questions. but in no means should you refer to it to as a holy grail. from where we really came from? the best answer science has to offer is I don't know.

That's because you don't understand it. If you did, you wouldn't think it was absurd. Put down the bible and AiG, and go take a bio course.

I do not think that we came from monkeys.
As Pope Benedict XVI said (not directly quoting him), to say that man is a random result of evolution, would be a grave mistake, it would lower the dignity of the human person.

No I don`t think that Darwin was this at all,he was quite intelligent,
I do believe that like a lot of other people who have adopted similar theories that he badly wanted to be right so much so that he worked to make the facts fit the theory.
