As a Priest friend said to me once,`Why don`t you give up your old sins instead and God will be well pleased, instead of giving up material things like candy.

I usually give up chocolate and coffee every lent.
One year, when I told a friend I was doing this they laughed at me and said that wasnt good enough.
Well, those two things are my dearest foods, and for me, its a huge sacrifice. Doesnt that mean something?!?
