I am not sure...hard to believe that a spirit can control all of what we are and the things around us. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN RELIGION. It has torn apart nations, groups of people, families and hurts people. Religion is an ancient practice that explained things that the people of that time didn't understand. They didn't have science to back things up. So they created gods or a god for the role in life.
On the other hand there is a evidence that shows that evolution did occur and is occuring now at a very slow pace.
SCREW CHRISTIANITY is the bottom line. I don't hate Christians, but I do hate their religion. By the way I don't practice a religion.

Oh, yes, several of them. I can be a philosophical monotheist when I choose, but basically, I prefer the symbolism of a group of gods and goddesses, all with their differences, their specialties and their weaknesses, to an abstraction that can only be comprehended in an intellectual fashion, not felt with the gut.

On the other hand, I do sense a unity which lies behind the traditional archetypes of gods like Venus and Mars. I have studied the kabbala enough to recognize that it is possible to have a unified God in the abstract clear light sort of way, and still make use of the symbolism that comes with polytheism.

I believe that what most people call God is a rather impersonal unified Force (not unlike George Lucas' imagery) that can't help us much until we get up close and personal using symbols that seem rather more like human to us.

Have I clarified, or further muddied, the waters?

Yes, I believe in God, I always have, since I was a little girl, even though my parents were both atheist, and said things like "if you believe that garbage, you need a shrink". I can't explain how or why I know there's a God, but I just "know".

I believe in God with my whole heart and mind, always did, I know this earth, this universe is only of God. There was a long time in my life I doubted many things I have been taught, now at this old age I am able to understand more clearly and some of my doubts have resolved. I regret wasting so much time to search and understand. I will always believe all things are of God, in His own time, in His own way.

Thanks be to God!

Yes I do.

Because,to me,God is the only one that makes sense because God says what he means.

Thou shalt not have no other gods before me - meaning, do not worship Allah,Buddha or any other.

Thou shalt not worship any graven image - meaning, don't worship the things of this world like money, sexuality or yourself among other things that are considered to be idolatry.

Thou shalt not take God's name in vain - meaning, stop saying G _ _ Damn in any form.

Remember the Sabbath to keep it Holy - meaning, a day of rest and worship the Lord.(don't wait until Sunday to mow your lawn or other things of that nature)

Honor thy Father and thy Mother - meaning, to respect & obey your mom & dad.

Thou shalt not kill - meaning, do not kill period.

Thou shalt not commit adultry - meaning, quit trying or otherwise sleep with your neighbor's husband or wife, get your own husband or wife.

Thou shalt not steal - meaning, don't take anything that doesn't belong to you (belonging to someone else) and make it your own.

Thou shalt not bare false witness against thy neighbor - meaning,to not lie on people for any reason and also to not slanderize the Word of God to decieve others because you refuse to believe.

Thou shalt not covet - meaning,do not wish or desire what someone else has.
