Hindusim is the oldest organized religion and a religion which was modelled is Buddhism, Buddha was Hindu.

In the History there were more Hindus and Buddhists dying because of them. There were more wars riots initiated by them.

I agree there were violence by Hindus and Buddhists but negligble when compared with them.

Spiritualism, Dharma, Meditation, Yoga was spread by Hindus.

Hinduism and Buddhism are more secular than them.

Christians have been more violent than most religions because of missionary work and they assisted in colonisation. I think that is the worst kind of violence. but it depends on what you consider violent.

Having said that, all religions have had some time in history where they have been violent as their way or protecting or spreading their religion.

out of the religions you have mentioned (noting that Hinduism isn't actually a religion) Buddhists have certainly been the least violent, and they also have been victim to ALOT of Hindu oppression etc.

ALSO THERE ARE ALOT OF DIFFERENT SECTS IF YOU LIKE WITHIN BUDDHISM... (tibetan buddhism is not the same as buddhism practised in japan), WITHIN ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY

Well just look at Ghandi, wouldn't hurt if more people were like him. Even when he was protesting about something it was peaceful. I think people understood his message without him resorting to violence. He said “If it weren't for Christians, I'd be a Christian.” It's not the religion that causes the trouble but some of the people who belong to them.

Yes, I'd agree. Hindu's do seem a bit mental when you meet them but they always seem to behave well and peacefully (apart from the old honour killings, that's pretty bad!).

My girlfriend's Japanese and was raised as a Buddhist. When I come home drunk she certainly aint peaceful, believe me! But by and large yes, Buddhists haven't gone on world dominating rampages.

All of it is false religion> The Buddhists are in Viet Nam and Cambodia and Indonesia. The camera rouge was a Buddhist.
As a viet nam veteran how peaceful they are.
During the 60 and 70 they preached peace and love. While they slaughtered millions of their own people. Some douched themselves with gasoline and burned themselves alive in the street. They championed the suicide fighters.
Read where the countries are that are Buddhist.
Then look at their history? Doesn't Islamic say we are peace and love? But what are their actions?
Some with those two religions. they are violent, and brutal.

The history was written by historians to please the victor and not the defeated. The warriors were respected for their skill and their success was measured by the number of opponents defeated by them. More people died of reasons other than wars during any century, of history. People resort to violence, to force their view on their neighbor. But none of the religions preach violence. But human beings who cannot see beyond what has been taught to them by fanatically inclined religious teachers indulge in attack and violence to propagate their vision. The political leadership is the one to be blamed for encouraging suppression of dissent by force. We have to live with it, so learn to survive the obstacles .

the thing is is that there are so many Christians and Muslims - they are the top two religions that are practiced by people. So there are obviously going to be more sects and denomiations and therefore more fighting. In Christianity - it doesn't teach to be violent ergo the religion itself is not violent - it's just some extremists that follow it.
