True james baird did invent the first TV - but it was a mechanical system with rotating disks...not very practical. Philo T. Farnsworth is the man who is considered the father of moden electronic TV. Read the book "the last lone inventor" for more on his amazing strory and the role RCA and david sarnoff played in destroying this brilliant man.
