I would hope so!!!! Any real cook would NOT use those salty cubes - which is why I cannot STAND rachel Ray - P L E A S E she cooks with hot dogs (c'mon). Be sure to watch out for msg (monosodium glutimate) - that's bad stuff right there! Check out this site:

Hmmm.. I never knew there were LAWS governing cooking contests..
You need to check the RULES for the contest.. but I doubt if any contest would prevent you from using any ingredients you like to use (except maybe illegal substances like marijuana)
