I have always read slow and recently the Masons in Louisiana have started a free school for qualifying children with dyslexia. We had a guest speaker who explained the program and handed out fliers. I found from the fliers that I may be a candidate for dyslexia so I went to www.dyslexia-test.com and took the test. To my surprise I found that I am borderline dyslexic in all five categories.
I would have never guessed it since I went 21 years in the Military and achieved a senior NCO rank before retiring. How ever I still have yet to find anywhere for an adult to go for treatment.
Good Luck with the test.

Reading comprehension can be strengthened by reading in short time spans. Take breaks and mentally review what you have read. As you do this you will find the optimum time you can read. The more complex the reading material, the more breaks you will need to take.
It may be ADD rather than dyslexia. And plenty of people with mild cases made it through school undetected. As long as you did well and weren't a discipline problem, the teacher wasn't worried that you were having to work harder to get the information.

Reading slow, isn't usually a sign of dyslexia, unless words or letters are scrambling, transfering, or swirling. It may just be that you are distracted, tired, or disinterested. Try making yourself read just fast enough where you take in the information, but not so fast that you just skip over stuff. Also, the slower you read the more time your mind will have to wonder.

No, dyslexia is where you read things backwards. Such as you would read the number 45 as 54. Being confused by the way things are worded is also a sign. But if you got through school without any issues your probably fine.

you are a college graduate and you think that reading slowly is a sign of dyslexia? Dyslexia is when you see things backwards when you are trying to read, reading slowly could be from ADD or something but most likely you have nothing wrong with you, just stupidity, no offense

I don't think dyslexia can occur suddenly in an adult. You have gone through school, gotten your masters degree and haven't realized earlier that you're dyslexic, which I'm sure you would have by now.

The worst is spontaneous dyslexia, just breaks out. And if you get on again off again ambidextrousness, it really gets weird. Stay away from spaghetti.

no. i don't think you are dyslexic, you would have had signs by now and grade school would have picked it up.I would have your eyes checked for vision changes. They may be slight and not that noticeable to you, until you try to read.
