Dont feel bad about having to put your doggie down because of age and or not feeling well SO MANY people are going to tell you no dont do do it and try to make you feel guilty is the dog happy does the dog run jump and play every situation is gonna be different if the dog has to be medicated just to get through life if the dog is miserable put him down I have had people come to our office and the dog be 15 years old blind deaf cant even stand up before they finally decided to put the dog down many times the dog should have been put down long ago use your common sense if the dog is miserabl then let him go.

You need to consider the quality of life for your friend. Is your dog suffering? In pain or having trouble breathing? Trouble getting up and down? I made that awful decision 10 months ago. I also learned, looking back, that I should have done it sooner. I was downplaying her problems and pain, because I did not want to lose her. I thought I was doing the right thing at the time. But now, I know I was not ready to let her go, and it was wrong. You know your friend better than anyone. It is a heartbreaking, gut-wrenching decision. And I would not wish it on anyone.Listen to your own inner self. You'll know. God Bless.

That's a hard thing to even think about i know I have had to put 4 down....Their just like family...
If you think it's time to put your animal down talk to your dogs vet and see if they think its a good idea for you to put them down..
Even though its hard sometimes it is whats better for the animal so they aint in pain and arent suffering any more.. If thats the only dog you have i suggest getting a new puppy before you do it so you have another campion there to eass the pain alittle not to replace the one your putting down but just for somthing to keep you busy with so your dwelling on your chocie
My friend told me to do that i didnt think it work but to my surprise it did i was stil hurting but the puppy made it alot better....And sorry about you dog

Thats tough, had to do the same thing to my dog who was 17 years old..I would talk to your vet about it first and see what they think..You will know when its time...Stay with your dog when the time comes so he knows you are there with him. Hate to say this to you but it will only take a few minutes for the dog to go..Good luck to you and God Bless..

I had to have my best friend and his son put down, 11 yrs apart. It's not easy to have to do it either. Both dogs 'told' me when they were ready to go. They give you a certain look and then you know it's time. Sorry to hear about you having to face that decision. In your heart, you'll know when your dog's ready to go.

We had to keep taking ours to the vet and he just said it might be time to consider having her put down, we could feel it coming for a while but she just didn't seem ready. You can just tell when it is and if you can't your vet should say

a good friend would stop the dog from suffering especially if he's in pain. dont let your selfishness take over on this one. i am sorry you are about to lose your best friend. just remember the good times you had with the dog.
