Give a look at these two. Each same quality and should sell about $100; Canon maybe a bit more.
FugiFilm FinePix A500
Canon PowerShot A530
Of the two, Fugi s a bit better on batteries but both are good on batteries. Don't forget a memory card must be bought.

I think that Kodak EasyShare is a very good brand and it's only $89.99. It comes with internal memory and batteries also. My cousins have it and it's pretty cool, because you can change colors and stuff.
Technical Details:
-4.0-megapixel CCD captures enough detail for photo-quality 11 x 15-inch prints
-3x optical zoom; 1.8-inch LCD display
-In-camera cropping; two-shot self-timer; undo-delete function; creative color modes
-With auto picture rotation, your vertical shots will appear vertically on the display
-Powered by 2 AA-batteries (two alkaline batteries supplied) or one Kodak Ni-MH rechargeable battery KAA2HR; stores images on SD cards (includes 16MB internal memory)

Get a Canon, all of the other brands are garbage! Canon has the best rep. than any other brand. Look at the Canon site to find your camera, then go to BH Photo to get your camera. BH Photo sells cameras cheap and sells some with special kits!
Canon Site

BH Photo (I have it set so you should only see Canon cameras!)

Go to walmart.
Kodaks are great, they have good battery life.
Mine is a Z730, it works great and it's really easy to use.
The prices vary, so talk to the salesman.
