Because most of the people based their achievements on material things. But the great and actually only necessary achievement is your relationship with God, the meaning of life. At the end of this earthy life, we WILL be judged. And God will not judge us on our material, money and fame orientated achievement, but on Love for him and the others. Ex : Bill Gates won't be judged on the success of his life and work but on the way he loves God, Jesus, if he followed the commandments, if he had faith, charity, if he had been kind, generous, looking after the poors, the sicks, the abandoned, the widow, the orphan... LOST of people will be really surprised that all their great achievements they had done on earth are NOTHING in the eyes of God!

Don't worry about most people. Worry about yourself. The meaning of life is to be happy, live your life with love and passion. NOW. As happiness is a state of mind you choose to be happy in what ever circumstance.
Not tomorrow when you might win the lottery, not when you get married, or maybe later when you have kids or later when they achieve their goals or when you have grandchildren. When, when, when....if....but.....
Be happy now and always. If you wait to be happy it may never come.

Ambition is almost impossible to define. We are constantly bombarded with ambitions that are not our own, but that we adopt in any case.
My natural ambition may be to play the guitar really well as I have some natural talent in that direction. In fact though, my ambitions are to be thinner, richer, darker skinned, better dressed, sexier, drive a bigger car, have a beautiful girl friend, have a big house, have a dead easy job that pays millions a week!.....etc...etc...
People would be happier if things like values and virtues were ambitions in the same way as the above.
It's hard work being happy, when you have to search through so much greed and ignorance to find it.

this life was given to you to make a choice. Do you want love/fellowship or dominion?
close your eyes imangine/remember the happiest moment in your life, was it sharing a loving experience with someone.
a glimpse perhaps of the magnitude of the love of father. would you choose that love over say being reborn here rich and famous. if you choose rich and famous you need do nothing you are on the right path. If it is love you choose, let everyone know it share your love, joy and laughter. you will be more than amazed at the return. If there is something more than here, choosing love has got to be the answer.
The meaning of life is to make the choice. what is your nature Love or rich and famous. follow the path of your desire.

Meaning of life is to be there for others. Wondering about ones own achievement is so narcissistic.

Those that are unhappy with their life have never found the three, I call them keys, to happiness.
Meaning, purpose and fulfillment.
There must be something in your life that gives you a purpose for living, therefore meaning and offering fulfillment.

It's not life + death = a dead end; Which is to allegory say it's not grace + law = saved + destroyed after.
Sadly many ppl still perceive death as a part of life; But life is the opposite of death, and the mixture of life + death an oxy-moron with a bad ending. For law is the ministration of death: 2Cor 3:7.
Grace is sufficient (no law required).
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
