What kind of butter does IHop put on top of their french toast? is it unsalted butter?

it is whipped margarine and it comes in 5# tubs. we just keep them on the line and when we need a scoop for french toast or pancakes, we just plop on a dop of it.

It's whipped butter.
Take room temperature butter and beat at high spped with electric mixer, till light & fluffy.
You can, if you want, then put it in a pastry bag, and depending on the tip you use make decorative butter pats. Nice touch to dinner rolls too. Put on waxed paper and chill, They will peel right off.
