Get OpenOffice.org. It is a free office suite that contains a word processor, spreadsheet, database application, and a presentation application (called Draw). It will create files in either it's native file format or it will also create and edit files which are compatible with the Microsoft Office applications.

The only alternative I know of is Flash and it is usually more expensive. Powerpoint is easy to use and comes intstalled on most computers.

"Presentation" in http://www.OpenOffice.org creates and modifies "Power Point" files. The OpenOffice Suite will create and modify any MS Office file all the way back to MS Office 4.5
