I know that shareware means a free to try software. but there are some programs like WinRar for example, which is a shareware but we can still use it after the 40 day trial period without paying for the license. So, how do I know which kind of shareware a software is? and where can I find this kind of shareware programs?

Thanks in advance.

Even if it stops working after evaluation period, you can always reinstall it. To know which type of software it is, read the limitations or something like that about the software.

You can find more such software at CNet or Tucows.

Just because winrar does it doesnt mean ALL shareware works the same! The trial version may work forever like winzip but other features are disabled. Some shareware is only good for a limited amount of days and then wont work at all!

When you download a shareware file, there should be a .txt file included that is called 'Read Me' or something similar. The info should be in there.
