The Star
I looked around the world today,
And thought I saw some kids at play,
But were they playing is what I thought,
On borrowed time, from them we bought.
The world I live in doesn't know
That it will reap, the things we sow.
We keep the promises, the ones we make,
But do we keep them beyond our wake?
What's the solution, to a world that's full,
Of made up nonsense, that sounds like bull?
The ones, who are guilty, wait with glee,
For the man they think, will set them free.
Finding him, if he's there,
Would be like finding bugs on hair.
He'll lift you up, to Heaven's Gate,
Then look at you, while you wait.
He'll count each one, and when he's through,
The gate will close, you've paid what's due.
Did you really think, that it would be easy,
As eating burgers, like they weren't greasy.
He'll build you homes, and there you'll rest,
And watch the earth destroy the guests.
They stayed to long, and didn't learn,
That life on earth is something to earn.
That poor guy, who came here before,
Did his part, to even the score.
He set you up, with his merry way,
And left you alone, until today.
You built a church, on his fine name,
He promised that, he'd do the same.
Now he is back, and wouldn't you know,
That the one you started is about to go.
It doesn't matter, if you pray,
These things won't change; they're here to stay.
So take this word, wherever you are,
And tell your church, to seek The Star.
by me.

That's a terrible poem.
The first four lines are ok, though it overstates the problem.
2-3 is ludicrous, because most people in the US are Christians (far too many IMO)
8 The 10 commandments are not the basis for US law. Most aren't enforced at laws, and many are prohibited by the Constitution.
10 Public school does not teach kids they don't need God. It's not brought up at all.
11 Sunday school is a sheltered environment where adults can indoctrinate children into the superstition.
12 Christians tend to be intolerant towards atheists. Religion, in general, tends to breed intolerance.
17 Jesus, if he existed, has been dead a long time.
18 The Bible has not been banned from the classroom. Teachers just can teach it in public schools and it can't be used to disrupt class.
19 Homosexuality is not a bad thing.
20 Libraries do have Christian books.
22 More whining from the majority about being persecuted.

My contemporary BF of two+ years has written 3 poetry books (some years in the past) and not as quickly as written me a poem. yet A BF from severe college wrote me a music that became extremely stable, referred to as Diamond Eyes. He executed it stay at camp that summer.
