I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

The type of diet you should use depends on the type of diet you can actually follow. Most people that fail at diets have usually tried diets that promise fast results, but are too strict to stay on very long.

Personally I lost weight using a diet that was high in protein and low in fat and carbohydrates that I developed myself. In addition to the diet, I also followed a low impact exercise program using a stationary bike.

Some of the must avoids are soda/pop, beer, candy bars, chips, and any other type of high sugar, high fat foods. Drink a lot of water, especially before you eat. Drinking water before you eat fools your body into thinking you are full and has no calories.

BREAKFAST -weekday: 1 glass carnation instant breakfast, and a bagel or 2 slices of toast with jelly or a pastry or croissant.
weekend: 2 eggs, 2 pieces bacon OR sausage, hashbrowns or fried potatoes. OR Eggs Benedict.

Mid morning snack-any piece of fresh fruit/veggie

Lunch- PBJ sandwich with chips and chocolate milk or
Ham and cheese sandwich, or tuna fish sandwich w/ chips, milk.
Turkey Pastrami sandwich with swiss is also good.

Afternoon snack- raisins or any fresh fruit or fresh veggie w/ dip

Dinner- Steak, baked potato w/ butter, sour cream and (optional) shredded cheddar cheese, asparagus, brussel sprouts or broccoli (cheese covered if you prefer)
or lemon pepper Chicken Breast, french style green beans, garlic mashed potatoes
or, if you like seafood,(I don't eat seafood) Baked fish, scalloped potaoes and a green veggie.

Dessert - small slice of pie w/ milk.

Bedtime snack- Glass of milk, 3 cookies or an ice cream sandwich.

Atkins - all the bacon/cheese you want and pounds melt away, no hunger.

I'm down 39 pounds in 13 months and most of that was off in the first 6.

you've tried everything and it didn't work? seriously, DON'T EAT! stop eating junk foods and meats, eat healthy foods like vegetables and fruits, everything too much is BAD.. and discipline is the key. EXERCISE everyday, at least one hour a day of jogging in the morning and then in the evening DON'T EAT. don't just seat all day, do something productive. instead of sitting infront of your pc or tv, go outside, walk, dance! be socializE! and nothing will work unless you do it with discipline!

try low carb diet such as atkins, fat flush plan, south beach, etc...
