When I connect the Digital Camera to the Computer's USB Port using the supplied cable that came with the camera, I get an electric shock. Because of this problem I cannot download any pictures from my Digital Camera to the Computer.
Electric Earthing has been checked and it is O.K.
The Computer has been checked and it is also O.K.
What else can go wrong? There is obviously a current leakage inside the computer, but how do I identify and locate the problem and correct it? Any ideas? Please help.

Just get a Card Reader and plug that into your USB port then remove your Card from your camera and plug it into your card reader and download your pictures.

The problem seems to be static electricity building up in your computer, earth yourself and the computer (hold the metal part of the computer) on a nearby radiator before you plug the USB cable in.
The shock is usually caused by touching a small area of exposed skin (finger) onto the computer.

The shock you getting is from static electricity in the air. Much like slidding your feet on the carpet then touching a metal door knob. It is common at this time of year, due to the cold, dry, winter air. Your computer is ok, so is your camera.

usb produce 5V. have u tried the camera and cable on another computer? if u get a shock on a different computer too, that means the cable or the camera is bad. If you don't get a shock, u need to check the usb connector on your computer.

the previous answers cover good areas. i would connect puter end first then camera see if you still get shock. Also i would check the the outlet your computer is using is grounded. and if you know an electrician have them do an impediance test on the house ground. may have to much resistance and not working right.

some cameras want you to place in the utility that got here with your digicam, my new canon is that way. even be certain your digicam is plugged quickly right into a usb port and not a usb hub. None of my cameras like the hub.

either the wire is bad
or you have the camera on when connecting

it could be all the dry air in the house

if you need a wire - go to ebay
