I shoot by using proper form but my help arm is pointing outwards is that bad? Do i make it straight? Also i shoot off my finger tips but ive noticed nba players shoot off their palms which one is better.

The approach you phrased your query it sort of feels as though you are asking if league laws by hook or by crook require you to have backspin at the ball. If that is the case, then the reply is 'of path no longer'.
