Yes. It shouldn't be about gender but age and maturity. A more responsible child should be allowed more freedom than an immature one, regardless of age or gender.

I totally think it is unfair to give boys and girls different curfew times. The only thing that matters is how old they are. Boys and girls should both be responsible to have the same curfew time. Thus, I totally believe that boys and girls should not have different curfew times.

I trust a 9 o'clock curfew for a sixteen and 17 year outdated even in case your in a "risk-free ecosystem," in the process the week days and consistent with possibility 10 on the weekends. there is no such element as a secure ecosystem now a days and you have to be domicile at a sensible hour mutually as your youthful so your dad and mom are not up in any respect hours of the nighttime questioning the "what if's."

Regardless if you feel that the girl should come home early because of certain risks outside after dark, both should come home at the same time unless you are prepared to deal with your daughter's anger. She would be very upset for being treated differently.
And just as well, boys cause lots of trouble during the late hours(depending on the boy of course). Many crimes are done during the night when most people are asleep, and there are less witnesses to catch them. (drugs, robbery, vandalism, etc)

Of course it is unfair. Always have been. This can be traced back to our value system which may change in the future, who knows. But right now, and in the past, the young female of the human species is more valued than the male. Therefore are protected more by their parents and family systems.

I do, but I don't...If I just had a girl or just had a boy then yeah I would give different expectations, on the other hand if I had like 2 or more kids, meaning boy and a girl then I would treat them equal.

Definitely unfair!!! Curfews should be assigned by the level of responsibility your child displays, not their sex.

It is completely unfair. I'm 32, and when I was a teenager, my parents did that to me. I never forgot it. It's not only unfair, it's sexist.
