Can I copy a folder and its entire internal structure i.e. the subdirectories without actually copying files present in the folders and the subfolders. Is there a freeware software available for this purpose.

These can do what you ask (not free) :

OnlyDirCopy v2.0

FileBoss 1.5

Do a search on Torrent or other file sharing sites for a free copy.

I've been there before and I think I know what you need.
There is a simple way (depending on how big the hole thing is because it takes disc space):
Copy the whole thing and past it wherever you want. Then open up the folders and delete the files. At the end you'll have only open folders left. (Sounds dumb but works)

No and it would be pointless if you could! What good are empty folders?
