I'm curious about theism, atheism, and education so I'd like to conduct a poll. Please answer telling me if you are Theist or Atheist and your education level. If college educated please include your major area of study. Again, I'm not trying to insult anyone, just trying to test my assumptions. I'll start:
Atheist, B.A. in Film production, M.S. in Biology

Those of you who raise concerns about validity: Don't worry, I wasn't planning on trying to publish this "study". It's for fun and a measure of the trend right now at this moment in time on yahoo answers, nothing more.

Theist, Master's degree. B.A in English Communications. MLS in Library and Information Sciences.
Your question is an interesting one. I think I know what you're after. However, your sample won't be large enough nor will it attract a wide enough variety to judge the answers. In addition, there is a rather wide range within "theist". I have more in common with agnostics than I do with theists of a fundamentalist bent. What you really need to look at is levels of religiosity rather than the simple yes/no answer to theism.
Keep asking questions, it's how we learn :)

I just hope you aren't forming an opinion based on this level or reasearch. Polling is only as good as the population, and this population is unreliable, too many uncontrolled variables involved.
Theist, BA english, AND I work in the film industry AND I come from a religious household, AND I come from a broken home. All factors in my theism.
Edit to Justin and Suzanne. You two have just missed each others point of view and have fast degenrated into near insults. Justin's satement is most likely only half right. His "honest statistics" do not state whether it was judeo-christian fundamentalism, or islamic, or buddhism, and they do not take into account that there are different education systems besides university. He redeems himself acknowledging that education is different from intelligence, but the fact he started off with that first sentence shows a bias, intended or not. Suzanne pointing out Justin's flawed statements by sweeping him into a category shows she did not pause to digest his answer and took umbrage immediately. Justin crypticly states it proved his point, which in fact it does not. Suzanne IS educated and I'm not up on my definitions of a fundamentalist, but she seems to be one. She disproves it. It more or less proves Justin's bias.

Theist. I have a BA in pre-Med with a minor in Art History. I am currently in an advanced level of study in an independent Bible school, under the tutelege of a Messianic Jewish scholar with multiple advanced degrees and published books. (I currently work as an Asst. Chief Investigator for a regulatory agency -- not a job for a person who cannot use his or her mind, I assure you.)
EDIT: "Justin," it appears you are not aquainted with "honest statistics." You've made a sweeping generalization that is blatently incorrect.

Honest statistics will tell you that religious fundamentalism is inversely related to education level.
You are not going to get honest statistics from the answers to this question, though it seems that you are trying to find the answer to that question.
By the way, I said statistics - not an absolute statement about anyone in particular but about the population as a whole regarding religious fundamentalism, which is not the same thing as having religious belief, and education level, which is not the same thing as intelligence.
