this tv is about 2-3 years old and i think it has broken before and was repaired again. then i got it about two or three weeks ago. it is a Toshiba.

my brother and i were watching TV last night and it just turned off. we tried turning it on a few times and that didnt work. we decided to leave it unplugged the rest of the night and this morning it didnt work either. now we can turn it on for about thirty seconds and the picture is really narrow. it takes up about a third of the screen.

how much would it cost to fix it and would it be worth it? please i need your help

Its the little light bulb looking thing in the actual screen. its also the timer on the stupid thing, its a Toshiba so its hard to repair your self, but thats what it is you need to take it to somebody who does tv's and gives you a warrenty so if it does break again then you have a warrenty.

Might not be worth fixing. If you bought this from a private individual this is probably why they were selling it. Usually the cost to fix something like that is so expensive it makes more sense just to go out and buy a new one. "New" means new, not an old one that someone has dropped down the stairs already.

Probably just a fried capacitor.

If you are not comfortable looking for it and changing it your self you need to get someone to replace it for you.

Beware of what you are touching if you take the back off there are high voltages that can hurt you.
