The role of the Intelligence Analyst at local station level is to monitor patterns of crime and criminal activity in order to advise on how best to deploy resources. You may also be required to do the analysis on major incidents such as murders etc. You will be searching and taking on a lot of information and putting it into easy to digest format for dissemination. You must be able to make recommendations and spot any gaps in intelligence that require further investigation.

The panel will want to know:

What you have done to prepare for the job.
What research skills you have; ie. how you obtain information
What you do with that information
What is 'intelligence'
Are you comfortable with statistics & numerate?
What are your communicaftion skills like? Are you comfortable with written and oral presentation (if successful you will be giving reports to officers and staff from all ranks).
Are you computer literate? Do you have sound knowledge of Miscrosoft applications, particularly Word & Excel

Analysts have to be able to debate complex issues and you may well be asked for an example of how you have done this.

Read the job description and person specification and ensure you have evidence in your personal traits or previous work experience to draw upon.

There are usually a couple of tests to perform. One may be a simple multiple choice test that tests your mathematical and english skills. Very often you are given a scenario to analyse based upoin a real situation such as a series of robberies or burglaries. The idea is to identify what is happening and make recommendations for prevention of further offences.

With regard to a presentation, you are usually given the subject matter & timescale beforehand. If not, I would suggest something like 'Should we arm the British Police?' . Highlight the pros and cons etc. and make it no longer than 10 minutes.

Best of luck and let us know how it went!

Switching jobs interior the middle of your enlistment would desire to no longer take place until they fairly choose people interior diverse job. persist with the 27D then get out and adjust to your plan. yet another decision would desire to be to circulate for 11B (or 19D like doofus advised) for a quick enlistment then circulate to 27D. basically undergo in strategies that the existence expectancy for an 11B and 19D is alot shorter than for a 27D.
