It really depends on the age of your friend, if it's a deciduous tooth or a permanent one, and how loose it is.

If it's a deciduous (baby) tooth, keep moving it around in the mouth, it will come out eventually. Try using ice, orajel or some other numbing topical solution to ease the discomfort. You can try eating hard fruit, sticky (you never heard that from me!) candy like caramel , gummy sticky foods usually help to dislodge it. My daughter lost one of her "baby" teeth eating KFC years ago. Don't worry, it will come out on it's own eventually!

If this is a permanent tooth, then what are you doing??? Those are meant to last a life time, you know some 70+ years! So unless it's beyond repair and has some advanced stage of perio disease, where the tooth is just "resting" unattached to tissue and bone in the socket, you can't get it out due to the roots being attached. The truth is you won't be able to get it out with out a good bit of pain to the person who has the tooth. Then you have a chance of leaving exposed nerve by breaking roots off. So my advise is, go to see your dentist and let him do the job. Lot's easier and a whole lot less painful. Good luck and hope I've been of some help.

When I was young and one of my tooth was loose, my dad tied a string to it and slammed the door, but it hurted, just take him to the dentist, that is the safe way or tell him to wait eventually it will fall out on his own and if it gets really loose tell him to bite into an apple. good luck.
