when i read novels, i just take every bit to my heart and if all doesnt end well, if it becomes tragic, i get depressed for days. i know it is only a story but it just doesnt make things any better. what should i do? i start hating authors who write tragic stories.

Why don't you go after happy ending books? You can search for such books. You don't need to bother about the sad endings and hate the authors because everybody feels sad reading such books, even i do. You shouldn't just think about it all the time and remember happiness and sadness are two different part of our lives. without one the other would look incomplete. Try and smile and don't be depressed!

I'm sorry that you get so emotionally involved with what you read. I can honestly say that used to be me. Sadly though, I no longer read for fun, everything I read now is just a way to educate myself. I'm not sure what you can do to overcome this, I stopped reading fiction a long time ago! Best of luck.

try reading the last page first, that way if you don't like it, don't read the rest of it.
