It was 6 years after Muhammad’s death that the Muslims conquered Jerusalem. Only then were the foundations of the mosque laid by the Second Khalif Umar ibn al-Khattāb while he was in Jerusalem. The actual Mosque was completed by Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan and his son Al-Walid I, 68 years after Muhammad’s death.

If anybody has a claim to own Jerusalem, the Christians have a better claim than either Muslims or Jews. For centuries the region was part of the Christian Byzantine Empire. Then in the Middle Ages the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem (Christian) was set up by Godfrey and lasted for ninety years. So why aren't Christians fighting to reclaim it, and talking about "restoring" an ancient kingdom? Maybe they don't think a few acres of sand are worth fighting over. Let the Muslims and Jews slug it out while we watch and laugh at them.

It is easy to understand why the Muslims are so afraid of archaeological digs, not only on the Temple Mount itself but also around it, although these digs also shed light on Jerusalem's Muslim history. Muslims fear these excavations, not because they physically endanger al-Aqsa's foundations, but because they undermine the tissue of lies proclaiming that the Jews have no valid historical roots in the city and its holy sites.

The Israel Antiquities Authority coordinated its salvage dig by the Mughrabi Gate of the Old City with the Islamic Wakf, the Jordanian government and all other relevant authorities before its archeologists began their work this week. Everyone understood that the excavation is being conducted 70 meters away from the Temple Mount and will in no way affect it.

So you are saying that Muslums had Jerusalem about 468 yrs after Jesus Christ, Then that would also put Jerusalem even further back then Jesus, All the way back to King Solomon, & King David. I can take you to well over 100 verses showing that Jerusalem belongs to Israel, But I am going to only give you 2 verses, Because if you can't believe these 2 verses then I will be wasting my time on all the other verses. Turn to Amos 9:11-12 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, & close up for the breachers thereof, & I will raise up the ruins, & I will build it as in the days of Old. 12: That they may possess the remnant of Edom, & of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this. Well I will give you a few more verses, Turn to Zechariah Chapter 12 Read the whole chapter, But in Verse 2, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto ALL the people round about.-------5: And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strengh in the Lord of Hosts their God. Read verse 6, & Now 7:The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first--------8: In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem & he that is feeble amoung them at that day shall be as David& the house of David shall be as God-------9:And it shall come to pass in that day that I will seek to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem. 10: And I will pour upon the House of David & upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem The spirit of Grace & of supplications And they shall look upon me in whom they have pierce.----So in the long run, Israel held the title thousands of years before you muslums can even try to claim something that is completely against Scriptures.

After an earthquake in 746, the mosque replace into thoroughly destroyed and rebuilt in 754, and returned rebuilt in 780. yet another earthquake destroyed maximum of al-Aqsa in 1033, yet 2 years later the Fatimid caliph Ali az-Zahir geared up yet another mosque which has stood to the cutting-edge-day... so your factor is humorous

Israel owns Jerusalem.

They allow the al Aqsa Mosque to enjoy continued use because they have no intention of rebuilding the temple.

It's funny. It's mostly Christians who want the temple rebuilt, not Jews.

(I'm sure the al Aqsa Mosque is protected by property rights in Israel and possibly by treaty.)

muslims say that mosque is the third or fourth holy sites to them - but to jews it is THE holyiest sites anywhere.
it was the israelites who made jerusalem a holy place therefore it belongs to the jews and only the jews .
i also think the fact that jews are not even able to go to the mount shows muslims to be nothing more than greedy thieves.

The Al Aqsa Mosque was a political strategy by Omar, nothing more!

Like most things in Islam, this is another peice of fiction!

Mohammad was a bad liar, I'm sorry, but this is the Truth! He was a gigolo, at first, who preyed on old women and his friends - Abu Bak'r and Omar bin al-Khattab were cloth merchants who lived in the City of the Ka'aba, Temple of al Lah, the Moon God; whose Sign, the al Hajrul Aswad was enshrined there. The wealth brought in by the Haj, so named after the meteoric Stone that the "True Believer" needed to kiss at least once in his life, was something that had made Mohammad, who belonged to that faction of the beni al Quraish Jews who'd "converted" to the Keepers of the Ka'aba, want to have control over, ever since he was born!

His first wife, Khadija bint Khuwaylid had taken him to Waraqa bin Nofal, her Christian Missionary relative, with the hope of having Mohammad find God and mend his ways! That's where Mohammad got the idea of creating his new "Religion" and began to get "visitations" from the Archangel Gabirel! His stories were so far fetched that his own relatives warned him to desist or face the consequences and then he needed to flee to Medina where he collected his army of pagan mercenaries whom he "converted" with his clever "Concept of Heaven". It was the military acumen of Shi'at Ali, his cousin, that had Mohammad win over the lands that he conquered.

That's when Mohammad first created the story of Abraham building the Ka'aba, to turn it inot a Muslim Temple; but, even he didn't have the guts to take out the Statues of al Lah, al Lat, al Uzza and al Mannat! The Ummayad Caliph - Yasid did that by totally destroying Mecca and the Ka'aba nearly 70 years after Mohammad's death! Yet, the al Hajrul Aswad was saved and taken to the Masjid al Qiblatain of Medina where the Qiblah, or direction of Prayers was turned to for that time!

You can see that Mohammad perpetuated a lot of the pagan practices of the cult of al Lah in the Haj, which he brought in as mandatory to all Moslems.

The Koran is, to say it succintly, pure fiction!

Unfortunately, since it gained strength, Islam needed to have something of importance in Jerusalem and the Temple of the Mount was the Perfect symbol for Omar to capture, so he created the story of Mohammad flying on the winged donkey, al Buraq, from there!?!?

This is just one of the pieces of fiction upon which Islam is founded!?!?

The Romans destroyed the Jewish Temple and built a church there.

The Muslims destroyed that church and built their mosque there.

The Jews have every right to the land on which the Temples stood.
