You've got to get a prescription for NIZORAL. That will zap your dandruff. You can't cure it any other way.

Firstly you need to determine exactly whats causing your dandruff, it could be some for of dermatitis, or it could be simply not rinsing your hair properly. If it is the first and you are suffering from a dry and usually itchy/sore scalp then you could try asking your dispensing chemist for a topical remedy if it is Seborrheic Dermatitis (sp?) then it is a reaction to a yeast that is naturally found in the sebum that is found on your hair/scalp, it is similar to a conditioncalled cradle cap found in many babys, this I'm afraid is a persistent condition but will usually flare up at times and disappear again. The best way to control it is to use some kind of anti-yeast shampoo like nizoral but there are many similar products available that work just as well. I'm not sure why you don't want to buy the shampoo? there's no need to be embarrassed as anyone with half a brain knows it is not a reflection of your personal hygiene and in the long run its likely to be less embarrassing than doing nothing about it :-)

Sometimes dandruff is caused by not washing out the shampoo/conditioner properly. Not only is a residue left in your hair, but it dries out the scalp so you get dandruff with it aswell. Simply spend more time rinsing your hair - if you're feeling really efficient, each product should take 10 mins to rinse out entirely.
Just a little warning from my experience - head and shoulders conditioner can make the hair greasy which is the exact opposite problem to the one you're having.. If you do have a really dry, flaky scalp then perhaps you want some extra moisture. Therefore I'd recommend you use any normal conditioner, and leave it on for 5 mins - this should do the trick!
If your scalp is also itchy, try avoiding shampoos and conditioners with Sodium Laurel Sulphate in the ingredients - this strips your hair completely and does it no good!

Without buying an anti-dandruff shampoo, you could try washing your hair more often. Don't take it personally, everyone has a different scalp that requires different care. One person's "wash routine" might not be fit for you at all. Dandruff means your scalp is dry and craves moisture. Try shampooing less often, cutting it down to once a month. Use conditioner twice a week, or more if you already use it twice a week. Also, if you have curly hair, wash it with warm water. If you have straight hair, rinse it with cold water after you're done washing it. This should fix your problem!

Hmm..... Without shampoo, hah?! :).... My folks in my village hometown, here Malaysia, Sabah, Kampung Petagas used to say to me that using the coconut oil into the hair as natural hair conditioning would be great to reduce and get rid the dandruff in the hair within a few days only. With the coconut oil also giving a best result to the hair scalp and increase the new baby hairs grow on our head. I have used it oftenly before and yes! The result to my hair is very fine and amazing. My hair is getting healthy, shinning and fully increase. There no dandruff then too also the parasits on my head are gone. Try one for your benefit.

Try Head & Shoulders Anti-Dandruff shampoo and conditioner. I used this for about a week and then it was gone.If that doesn't work, get some type of perscription for your hair and that should work once and for all!
