I know how you feel. Same thing happened to me, except I cut it right ABOVE my ears. Eat more calcium and protein than you normally would. Try avoiding styling your hair at all. Products damage your hair and can stunt hair growth. The most you'll be able to do as you wait for your hair to grow is: tying it back or putting headbands in. Don't, I repeat, DON'T, get it cut TOO often.

The whole 'cutting your hair promotes growth' thing isn't true. It's been proven to be false. Because if cutting hair really did promote growth, wouldn't balding people be cutting the hair they have to grow more? Yeah..Look it up.

I do think every so often, treat yourself to a quick hair-cut to get rid of split ends, but never let them take of much of your hair. Only about a half inch or 1/3 inch.

The most I can say is give it time, be kind to your hair, and don't over-wash it.

Good luck.

The vegetarian thing is nonsense since you can get protein from eggs, soybeans, supplement pills and cereal. The "vegs have bad hair" rumor was maliciously started to convince people to not go veg. If you want to grow out your hair, the best thing to do is to take good care of it. Don't use a lot of products and don't straighten, perm, color or curl it extensively. Once a month, cut off an inch or so and the hair will grow back faster.

Regular trimmings, about 6-8 weeks, will keep your hair healthful. It doesn't promote growing. I take a multi-vitamin every day, and an extra one of just vitamin c. I use deep conditioners (I have very dry, straight hair), and do not over brush. I do not use styling aids or blow dryers. I wash, comb and towel dry. I have done this since I cut my hair above my shoulders (about 10 years ago) , and I need a hair cut every 6 weeks or so. It's just too long!!!! I hope this helps!

Well one tip is to not be a vegitarian or vegan. Because if you eat a lot of meat and other things that have a lot of protein then it will grow faster. At least that worked for my best friend. If you are a vegitarian or vegan and you are set on it eat a lot of green vegetables.

I'm not saying that if you are a vegitarian your hair can't grow. I'm just saying it would grow faster if you weren't.
