The only reason you have to write a letter is for your child's file--it's required by law in the public schools that they are tracking attendance, and making sure of absences. (Otherwise, if there's no written record by the parents, when the child is struggling, the parents can come back and say: "I had no idea my child was missing so much school!" but if it's signed by you, the school is in the clear.)
At any rate, just write: Dear [Principal] Jones, My daughter MaryAnn Smith missed 2 days of school, February 8th-9th, 2007 due to personal reasons. Please consider these excused absences as she was under our care. Sincerely, Martha Smith"

Thinking's answer is perfect. As a parent/guardian you are under no obligation to elaborate on WHY or WHERE your daughter was, simply request the absence be excused for specific dates.

hehe I think you need an excuse letter for you...lol anyway,it goes something like this: (polite term) sir/madam (to the school principal or whatever he is)....then you write the reason you or your daughter missed classes 2 days, and then you ask for her to be excused.
then you end up with your name in the lower right corner...good luck with your letter

Punk_Rock; Doubtlessly your daughter "had to fit-in
Special Dental-treatment-so rushed, -WITH a "Dinner-with-(some)
movie-star"..(in a competition she won in Rostans: "a special Promotion")!
-so you, and yo' daughter decided.. (-on the spur-of-the-moment)
to [rush to]
the Airport: take ADVANTAGE of being able FOR her to dine-with Mr.xxxxx,
-AND nail an appointment -with this dental-specialist-
on the VERY SAME day! (We were so incredibly fortunate!)
How AM I -as a (cool) liar? -eh?
