The first steps of treatment are to identify and treat the underlying medical problem (such as diabetes) or remove the cause (such as alcohol). Other goals include controlling symptoms, curing the disorder if possible, and helping the patient gain maximum independence and self-care ability.(MedlinePlus)
Peripheral neuropathy is dysfunction of a spinal nerve or nerves distal to a plexus or root. It includes numerous syndromes characterized by varying degrees of sensory disturbances, pain, muscle weakness and atrophy, diminished deep tendon reflexes, and vasomotor symptoms, alone or in any combination. Initial classification is based on history and physical examination and must be confirmed with electromyography and nerve conduction velocity studies. Treatment is aimed mainly at the cause.(Merck)
Consult a Neurologist.
Please see the web pages for more details on Peripheral neuropathy.

The best thing I found was to keep your hGl in the normal (80-120) range, increase circulation in the affected areas (rotating the feet in circles -10 circles to the left, then 10 to the right- daily really helps) and constantly monitoring the affected area for skin ruptures. Given time, the nerve tissue can regenerate. Using Capstasin cremes can help, but the real answer is in sugar control.

Yes, B12 can help neuopathy, but you can try oral intake first. Methylcobalamin tablets are available in 1500 mg strength and you can take initially 2 tablets (one in mornign and another at night) for a few days. and then reduce it to 1 tablet at night time.

Kali Phos, Sulfur etc. (Homeopathic Remedies) also help. See a good homeopath.
