I've seen it on the info-mercials on cable and they look really good, but should I fork out almost £100 pounds for one?

Like any other piece of exercise equipment, they are only effective if you use them. Ask yourself the question, are you paying £100 for something you will actually use, in which case go ahead, or are you spending £100 on something that you will use twice and will end up gathering dust under the bed. If you aren't sure, try this, go for a walk every day or every other day, as often as you plan to use the equipment, for 20 or 30 minutes. If you can motivate yourself to do that for a month or so then you will probably be able to motivate yourself to use the thigh trainer. If you can't then forget it, you probably won't use it. Of course you may decide that going for a walk is just as effective and you can save yourself £100 and still end up with toned thighs.

If you use it, then yes. But a pair of dumbbells would be likely just as effective and far cheaper, in the case that you "never get around to it."
