yea, maybe, i think you had another good point on a question i saw, it could be to do with motivation of prayer, i think my own motivation is often for more of my own benefit, than God's glory.

Not that reason. The reason is in the weakness of man, the power of God became perfect. If anyone is strong all the time, God will not show his great love, his great power; otherwise he came down himself as Jesus Christ a fulfillness of a perfect love and power. An unanswered prayer is another matter; it is about the prayer itself, did the prayer "correct"? Did the prayer ask for anything outside the God's plan? Or the one who prayed is not patient to wait?

God never answers my prayers...surely he can't not exist, therefore he must be teaching me a lesson. Thank you God for doing nothing and still somehow teaching me a lesson...Geez

He is there, like a loving father, but He will act only when we have expended all OUR energies.
