put it (wraped) in a sink full of cold water. Most people say use hot water, but the difference between the meat and the water is different so it will defrost faster

Fill you sink with COLD water and set the waterproof wrapped meat in it to thaw. It's a matter of science. Alton Brown did an episode on it. It's how we always thaw our meat. Adding any heat to the process will begin cooking the meat, and will tamper with you final product.

You can use the microwave, drop it into hot water (in its freezer wrap, of course) or just throw it in the pan and keep jabbing at it. But remember, fast thawing , especially beef, will toughen the meat. It's better to think , and plan, ahead!

I would put it in the microwave....No microwave?? Then fill your sink with hot water and set it...Still wrapped in the water. Keep refilling as the water cools. It won't take long.
