Some friends of our were praying that divorce came to their son and daughter-in-law which at the time I thought was strange however, have since seen why they were doing so. Mind you they walked away from the situation after being chronically mistreated and disrespected by the young lady. After she accomplished pitting her husband against his parents she then began beating her children. Needless to say the couple is now divorced.

That's so sad to hear that. There are a lot of people who are evil and are out to hurt others. Your children grow up and become what you raised them to be. If you raised them in an abusive situation then, they will either grow up and be an abuser or get involved with abusive partners. You should always want better for your children than you had. I can't imagine why parents insist on letting television, movies and video games raise their kids. It's a shame and such a waste. That is what's wrong with today's youth. People don't want to take the time to raise their kids and make sure they are taught right from wrong.

Parents are not raising their children right. Not just young ladies, young men as well. Take a better look at the parents in this situation.

I think the real ? is are the CHILDREN of today lacking nurture? I think today's society is failing at raising chldren with respect. The situation you describe is unique as are all situations. You don't know the girl or her upbringing to make a generalized statement. Obviously she should not have been abusing her kids and that needed to stop- but, was she abused- most peopl LEARN to be abusers somewhere. And the husband, where was he in all of this. there are 2 separate issues here- the situation you describe, and society in general. Our society tends to turn a blind eye to its neighbors (if they notice them at all) and their children. It used to be everyone knew each other and were supportive of each other, helping to raise each other's children. Now we have single parents, young parents, inexperiences parents with nobody to help answer questions, support them or offer guidance or assistance. People look at the children of today and shake their heads but very few are willing to step in and reach out to those kids. They just watch them fall deeper and deeper into the cracks, rather than throwing them a rope to pull them out and show them a better way. Nobody wants to know each other or help each other or be responsible for each other. It's everyone's fault that we are the way we are today. No one is willing to do for other's, but are more than willing to criticize the outcome when it is less than desirable.
