Does anyone know what "companion airline ticket" mean? What does "companion" exactly mean? How is it different from a regular airline ticket?

It's a free or low-cost ticket you can get but you can only buy it when you are buying a regular priced ticket at the same time. Lots of credit cards "give" these out when you sign up for their card, whichever one earns frequent flier miles. So if you buy a $300 ticket to LA, you can add a seat on the same flight for your friend for $99 if you buy the tickets at the same time.

It's the "Buy 12, get one free" of the airline industry. Basically you spend a bunch of money, thereby earning credits towards a companion flight, and then they give you the crappiest seat available on the flight you want for a friend. (You still have to buy your own ticket though.)

Its the airlines trying to be cute and trendy... It is just a 2nd ticket you buy at the same time.

i believe it's a ticket at a reduced price for someone who is traveling with someone in need...like someone disabled.
