Life comes from soul and not from dead matter. If the soul leaves the body death happens and there is no life symptoms felt.
Life symptoms or cetana or consciousness is due to the presence of the soul. The body which like a machine consisting of digestive mechanism, respiratory mechanism, excretory mechanism etc... all of which stop their function as soon as the spirit soul leaves the body and the machinery stops working.
Srila Prabhupada gives the following analogy to understand the life symptoms due to the presence of the soul.
Just as a machine is working so long the current is introduced into it and as soon as the electricity is removed the machine stops functioning. We know that there is electricity in the machine and that is making the machine run and we also perceive that the electric force is absent when the machine has stopped running. In this way the presence of the soul may be perceived directly by any thoughtful man.

"LIFE" is way of human face and civilization in which he/she comes to perform some role and the work remains and ideas remains .You are successful in your life if your ideas and philosophy is being remembered and a failure if you can't change or affect the ideology of a single person. So "life" is the stream of good as well as bad ideas and humans are just medium of this stream.

Life is the power to grow, to advance and to renovate.
The power to grow is given to all creatures, but the power to advance and to renovate is given only to human beings. We need the physical, intellectual and spiritual education to develop and to use properly this power.
In this age of human maturity, all people should be given and should seize the opportunities for education. Otherwise, we will bitterly regret.
